Roger Somerville

After working as a New Zealand Trade Negotiator and Diplomat, Roger got a unique insight into just how exciting the cherry opportunity was for New Zealand in Asia.

In 2015, he purchased his own block and planted the 5.5 hectares out with delicious kiwi cherries. He thinks it’s great to be able to sell a unique piece of Central Otago to discerning Asian consumers.

Roger was originally born in Invercargill, but currently lives and works in Singapore with his wife Wang Haiyan and their two little boys. He speaks fluent Chinese and has driven multiple fruit, vegetable and meat access protocols for New Zealand exporters.
