Scott and Sarah Dickie
Growers and DirectorsBased in Cromwell, Ken, Scott & Sarah Dickie are some of New Zealand’s many orchardists who have converted farmland to commercial Cherry orchards. Their company, Pisa Range Orchards Ltd, is a family run business with two Cherry Orchards located between Cromwell and Wanaka. They manage 9 hectares of fruit including Lapin, Sweetheart and Staccato varieties and have a strong desire to showcase Central Otago’s ability to grow the most beautiful export quality cherries yet also protect and nurture the environment that provides a livelihood for their family.
Originally from Southland and with a background in farming, Ken fancied a change in lifestyle and planted the orchards. His son Scott and Scott’s wife Sarah moved back to NZ from some years living abroad in Australia and China to take part ownership in the Orchards and now with their two small children enjoy life in beautiful Central Otago.
While Ken tends to the day to day operation of the orchards, Sarah oversees the office side of the business, including payroll, health & safety and regulatory requirements. Scott continues to work remotely from home in a regional marketing role for a global chemical company that he has been with for the past 10 years.
When not growing Cherries, Ken is often found on the bowling green whilst Scott and Sarah, along with their daughters, Georgia & Olivia are a keen outdoors family, relishing all that Central Otago has to offer, be that on the lake, up the mountains & exploring with the kids.
